Fish farms that were supposed to boost wild salmon numbers are killing them off

Wild salmon populations on fish farms, which are supposed to help boost salmon populations around the world, are facing a backlash.

It is noted that more than 200 studies have shown that wild salmon populations on fish farms face negative consequences that include poor health and reproductive decline. Scientists have found that fish on such farms have contributed to a reduction in the genetic diversity of wild individuals.
